"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless & widows in their affliction,
and to keep himself unspotted from the world." James 1:27 J127 is a branch of the RSYM youth ministry. Named after this verse in which God places a high priority on caring for the fatherless and widows, “J127” puts hands and feet to the admonition of this verse in a real-life way. The goal of the J127 team is to demonstrate Jesus’ love to these individuals and families, in our church & community, by meeting needs and bringing hope and encouragement to their lives. This is done through regular visits, attentiveness to needs, encouragement, friendship and pratical help. If you make the excellent choice of joining the team, you could, among other things, anticipate visiting elderly couples/individuals/families to cheer up their day or perhaps help out with a specific need. We are seeking to setup a support team, as well, that can be armed with practical skills such as - plumbing, electrical, automotive, handyman, yardwork, etc., to be available to meet needs that are found by J127 visits. We envision this as a dynamic part of the Royal Servants’ ministry, as well as a huge blessing to those who so often can be a largely overlooked part of our community. Time commitment is fairly minimal- we plan to meet monthly, and anticipate bi-weekly or once-monthly (as needed) visits which can be worked out according to your schedule and that of the individuals you’ll be serving.
